Descrizione
Eighth Workshop on Theory, Phenomenology and Experiments in Flavour Physics
Neutrinos, Flavor Physics and Beyond

The eighth edition of the international workshop on Theory, Phenomenology and Experiments in Flavour Physics will be held at Villa Orlandi, Anacapri, Island of Capri (NA), Italy, on 11-13 June 2022. As in the past editions, it is a joint workshop between experimentalists and theoreticians aiming at debating recent results and hot topics in flavour physics. The topics has extended during the years, encompassing also other interesting and up-to-date scientific topics, in an interdisciplinary effort.

Flavour, electroweak physics, neutrino physics, are all foremost in our assessment of results within the Standard Model and search for physics beyond. Anomalies in flavor physics are hints on new physics, while with neutrino masses and oscillations the new physics has already started. Analyzing interplays is fundamental in order to formulate a coherent framework in our ambitious quest for the ultimate laws of physics. We plan to discuss mainly the flavour anomalies, the flavour problem from leptons to quarks and back, including continuous versus discrete symmetries, and the connections between the Higgs sector and neutrinos, embracing see-saw models and Higgs potential analyses. Focus will also be on neutrinos, at high and low scales, including LHC searches and CLVF, leptogenesis, connections with dark sectors and NP mediators, non-standard neutrino interactions and the problem of the nature of massive neutrinos.

Also this year, the same location of the workshop, Villa Orlandi, will host on 6-17 June 2022 a theoretical Institute, organized jointly by the University of Napoli Federico II and MITP (Mainz Institute for Theoretical Physics)

https://indico.mitp.uni-mainz.de/event/205/

The theoretical program and  the workshop have common goals, that is to interpret the results coming from a wide range of experiments, and to formulate a coherent framework to account for them. The status of high energy physics field in 2022 can emerge, and directions can be given for future progress. Accepted participants of the MITP program are automatically acceped and registered for the workshop.

The Workshop is organized and funded by University of Napoli Federico II, Department of Physics and INFN, Sezione di Napoli.
