Description
We are glad to announce that the Advanced School and Workshop on Nuclear Physics Signal Processing, ANSiP-2011, will be held on November 21-24, 2011 in the Sicilian town of Acireale, close to Catania (Italy). The meeting is organized by the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), Sezione di Catania and Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS), the Dipartimento di Fisica ed Astronomia of the Università di Catania and the Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione, Politecnico di Milano. The ANSiP-2011 meeting will focus on signal processing and data acquisition for particle detectors in small to medium sized systems. The main topics that will be covered are: - Signal formation and processing in radiation detectors - Noise mechanisms, signal transport and control - Generic and integrated approaches to Front-end Electronics and Data Acquisition - Novel technologies and their applications - Solutions towards high dynamic range The meeting will be structured to cover introductory base concepts followed by cutting edge electronics contributions and open discussions on the topics outlined above. Due to the educational character of the meeting, participation by students, postdocs, technical staff and engineers is strongly encouraged. Submitted abstracts will be selected by the organizing committees for oral or poster presentations. A cocktail & poster session will be held on November 23rd. A final exam may be organized, on request, for PhD students attending the school. For more information see the 1st circular.
