Scientific Registration is mandatory for all participants to NOW 2024. Registration deadline: 30 June
By registering, you certify that you have read the information below about accommodation and fee, and that you agree with the INFN Code of Conduct, Data Privacy policy, and INFN Statement on the current international situation, that are linked on the NOW 2024 Indico and Workshop page. You are also asked to give preliminary info about arrival and departure dates and accompanying persons.
Participants with accepted scientific registration will receive later detailed instructions about fee payment, as well as room reservation and partial prepayment, by a dedicated Agency indicated by us. [Beware of scams.]
Participants not arriving with their own car will later receive information also about transportation shuttles (free of charge) from/to the Brindisi airport or the Lecce train station, from the same dedicated Agency. Transportation will not be provided by other airports or train stations.
Accommodation information
NOW 2024 ACCOMMODATION - DEADLINE FOR BOOKING AND PARTIAL PREPAYMENT: JULY 15th
The NOW 2024 Workshop will be held at the Basiliani Hotel SPA in Otranto (Lecce, Italy) where all the participants will be hosted with full-board accommodation, and where all the scientific sessions will take place (plenary and parallel). The accommodation will be handled by a dedicated Agency.
We have reserved a block of 115 rooms for the participants from Monday Sept. 2 (arrivals, check-in after 16:00) to Sunday Sept. 8 (departures, check-out before 11:00), for a total of up to 6 nights. Accommodation at the Basiliani Hotel cannot be extended beyond these dates (up to a few exceptional cases, if any), and stays cannot be shorter than 3 nights. We strongly recommend to stay for the whole week 2-8 September (6 nights).
The special room rates offered to NOW 2024 participants and accompanying persons are:
- 167 Euro/night/person for single occupancy (full board, VAT included);
- 134 Euro/night/person for double occupancy (full board, VAT included).
All rooms are located within the Basiliani Hotel area. In case of disabilities or special mobility needs (e.g., children with baby strollers) please inform the Agency, so as to find proper accommodation solutions (e.g., avoiding external walkways with several steps).
Family reductions:
- Infants (from 0 to 3 years not completed): free of charge. Baby crib, if requested: free of charge.
- Children (from 3 years completed to 12 years completed): -50% reduction
- Adults (> 13 years) in 3rd and/or 4th bed in same room: -25% reduction
The above rates do not include the Otranto City Tax, that should amount to 2 Euro/night/adult (to be confirmed for this Summer). Further accommodation details will be communicated to the participants by us or by our dedicated Agency.
Very important info:
- Do not contact and do not book the Basiliani Hotel SPA by yourself.
- Do not seek or book any alternative accommodation option in Otranto.
- Your room reservation will be managed exclusively by a dedicated Agency, that we shall disclose to the registered participants in due time (beware of scams!).
- The accommodation cost must be prepaid 50% before July 15th (the remaining 50% at your arrival). Information on 50% prepayment will be provided by our dedicated Agency.
- The same Agency responsible for room booking will take care of your transportation by bus to/from the Hotel from/to the Brindisi airport or the Lecce train station (if you do not travel with your own car), based on your detailed arrival and departure information.
- More info on the Agency and its services will appear here in due time.
- We cannot offer financial support for accommodation costs to any participant.
- The deadline for room reservation and 50% prepayment is July 15th, 2024. Failure to comply with this deadline implies denied participation to the Workshop.
Room cancellation policy (after 50% prepayment):
- For cancellations from July 16th to July 31st, the prepaid amount will be refunded, minus 100 euro processing charge.
- For cancellations from July 31st to August 15th, half of the prepaid amount will be refunded.
- For cancellations after August 15th, the prepaid amount will not be refunded.
Fee information
NOW 2024 FEE – DEADLINE FOR PAYMENT: JULY 15th, 2024
The conference fee is 450 Euro (including taxes) for each participant, including speakers. There is no fee for accompanying persons.
Participants with accepted Scientific Registration will receive from us further instructions for the fee payment, to be handled by a dedicated Agency in due time. [Beware of scams.] Participants are required to pay the fee well in advance and, in any case, not later than 15 July. Payment on site will not be possible.
Note that all participants supported by Italian Institutions shall inform the Agency in detail, about the Institution paying the fee and the chosen administrative method of payment (full or split).
Further info about the dedicated Agency and fee payment will be given by us in due time.
Fee cancellation policy:

Local information
The NOW 2024 Workshop Venue (Basiliani SPA Hotel) is located on a hillside, at walking distance from the old town of Otranto and its local beaches. The Workshop participants and/or the accompanying persons may spend their free time either inside the Hotel (which offers a large and deep pool for adults and a solarium free of charge, plus charged SPA services) or outside it, towards the old town and the seaside, that are favorite destinations for tourists.
Outside the Hotel, some points of interests are: the Otranto Castle (often featuring art exhibitions), the Old Town (with many places to stop for a visit, for a drink, or for shopping), the Cathedral (with its famous floor mosaic), the local sand beach with shallow waters ("Lido", suitable for both adults and children) and the rocky seaside with deep waters (suitable only for experienced swimmers).
