Student Grants

Student Grants to support Master and PhD students to attend the LEAPS 2023 Conference will be offered by LEAPS for a selected number of students.

We also collaborate with the ERNEST GPCR Network to provide additional grants for students and young investigators members of the  ERNEST Network. More details about these grants and how to apply will be soon announced.

The LEAPS student grants will cover:

- Hotel Costs  from 14 to 19.05.2023 (5 nights) in a shared room.

- Conference Fee (including lunches and dinners at the Hotel Hermitage).

- Travel Costs up to 500 EUR.

Who is eligible

Master, PhD Students in Life Sciences, Natural Sciences and Engineering.

How to apply

1) register on this site at LEAPS Conference 2023 - Student Grants by February 19, 2023;

2) send an email to including:

  • a short informal application letter addressed to the Chairs of the Organizing Committee;
  • a CV;
  • a confirmation letter of your student status, signed by your supervisor.

In addition it is mandatory to submit an abstract for the poster and/or oral contribution.

The final decision about grants will be sent by e-mail directly to the applicants by the end of February 2023. The selection committee will decide also if granted students will present a poster or/and an oral contribution.

A selection of the best three posters will take place during the Conference and an award ceremony will follow.

How to claim travel expenses

For the travel expenses reimbursement, young investigators who received the grant are requested to buy travel tickets by themselves in advance and provide copies of the invoices addressed to them. It is mandatory to provide the personal invoice to get the reimbursement.

Procedure: the grantee must come in person to the conference registration desk to hand in the invoices/receipts of the travel expenses and fill out a form.  The reimbursement will be processed and the amount transferred to the grantee’s personal bank account after the conference (around 3-5 weeks for the internal procedure).

Students who received the grants need to provide us:

- Original travel tickets (Bus, Ferry, Flight, etc.) and the invoice for purchase (for flights - with the student’s name on it);

- Visa receipts (if needed).

For students from countries outside the Euro Monetary Union, we need a copy of ID with home address (it is a mandatory request by the bank).

Note that taxi costs are covered only if the student’s departure/arrival time is before 6:00 am or after 23:00 pm.
