Description

Whilst the power delivery for HPC is pretty well defined & is probably close to its peak efficiency. Cooling of the HPC as a whole is rapidly changing.
Not only is the cooling infrastructure landscape changing, it is one area where significant energy savings can still be achieved. This is very important not only from a carbon usage perspective but also given the rapidly rising cost of energy. Any reductions in cooling costs can significantly reduce your HPC running costs.
This presentation looks to cover both the changes that are coming and also how you can future proof your data centre for your HPC.
Also anyone provisioning either new data centres or modifying existing ones needs to be aware of what the future will bring in order to provision the infrastructure that the new servers will need. This is being driven by the fact that whilst existing servers have used air cooling, air is no longer adequate to fully cool the new CPUs that are arriving in the near future. These new CPUs will be essential to provide the performance increases that HPC users are looking for.
