Description
A new facility named SPARC_LAB (Sources for Plasma Accelerators and Radiation Compton with Lasers and Beams) has been recently launched at LNF. Born from the union of two already excisting infrastructures: the Free Electron Laser driven by a high brightness photoinjector SPARC and the 200 TW class laser FLAME. With the mission to coordinate and harmonize all the activities making use of the high intensity electrons and photons beams, SPARC_LAB is become operational this year aiming to be an interdisciplinary laboratory dedicated to the study of new techniques for electrons and protons acceleration with Plasma waves, and the development and application of advanced radiation sources based on FEL, THz sources and Compton-Thomson backscattering.
In this talk we will introduce the new laboratory and the results obtained so far.
