Previous week recap 1mSpeaker: Davide Fiorina (GSSI & INFN)
Davide P.
- CSN2: second draft prepared to be released.
- Coordinated Herman logistics (CERN shipment tranches; return option via Luigi).
- Provided gas-flange diameter to Bussetti; machining of source/HV flanges scheduled (11–12 Feb).
- Flagged optical windows mismatch (only 6 mm supplied) and started follow-up.
- Advanced DarkSide PE logistics (customs documents found; customs/polishing steps unblocked).
- RM1 approval obtained to host 1 ton of LIME copper.
Davide F.
- Unblocked PRA update process on GSSI side; next step to engage NIER for evaluation.
- Started “affidamento a consumo” with Rometec; continued chasing urgent PMMA-box fitting (still no ETA).
- Kicked off Hall F workshop actions (gas-system flanges + dewar wheels adapter).
- Water pool/PE/copper box: first draft ready; initiated technical report + TDR update; Environmental Service meeting scheduled.
- Managed detector integration issues: cathode frame investigation arranged; GEM critical issue identified (oxidized GEM lost, bent Nylon66 frames; workaround and CERN options under evaluation).
Giorgio
- No analysis update (meeting canceled).
- Prepared to present the new analysis task-management tool at the general meeting.
Stefano
- Set up first 2026 WP5 meeting.
- Investigated the possibility to borrow an Rb-83 source from XENON.
- Follow-up pending on He bottle procurement for commissioning.
Giulia
- Resolved GEM radioactivity inconsistency (HPGe DB typo fixed).
- CYGNO-04 simulations continued; CAD vs Geant4 geometry alignment still to be verified.

DavideF report 1mSpeaker: Davide Fiorina (GSSI & INFN)
-
O₂ + humidity sensors: procurement phase started (quotes requested), budget ~15 k€.
-
Gas supply: procure He and CF₄ bottles at LNGS, using all remaining money from last year.
-
NIER and PRA started the collaboration to produce the new PRA, several documents and feedback are needed and will be provided to the company
-
Water pool / installation procedure: with Cesidio, fully reviewed installation procedure and water-pool integration. Met LNGS Environment Service: they support no additional resin layer, using only the existing resin + silicone sealant on the edges. Major simplification/relief.
-
CYGNO-04 workflow (current):
- Complete handling procedure for polyethylene + copper box (our side) this week.
- Discuss technical/crane aspects with LNGS crane contact (Franco Tacca); expect feedback/indications by end of week.
- Budget contingency: possible ~10 k€ for cranes (likely not needed, but ready).
-
Close copper + polyethylene package and send everything to Fantini, priority: polyethylene.
-
Water tanks: first indication of availability; top cable entry space feasible. Cost estimate ~20 k€, depending on current polyethylene market value.
-
Simulation inputs: volumes + weights for all CYGNO-04 components are available; with Giulia define how to update the simulation accordingly.
-
HFO paper: helping Melba implement final comments from Florian.
-
Directionality: trimmed/cut some details.

Giorgio report 1mSpeaker: Giorgio Dho (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare)
- Analysis github page for the task was presented
- GEM packed and waiting for a document from magazzino to be sent
- Luigi has not yet been able to meet Adam or alexis
- Tecnoalarm has now the cathode frame and GEM sandwich to correct the bends
- It is not working to straight things up. Tuesday we expect new updates.
- Daniele will send where to cut the middle bandelle asap
- Cesidio warned that Bussetti's stuff has arrived if he wanted to check the pieces. He did not reply to me
