Description
The IceCube Neutrino Observatory continuously monitors the sky and issues real-time alerts for high-energy neutrinos and flares, enabling multi-messenger observations. Since 2016, the Gamma-ray Follow-Up (GFU) program has distributed cluster alerts privately to partner Cherenkov telescopes, using pre-selected source lists to improve sensitivity over unbiased all-sky scans. A systematic update of these monitored sources is now underway, motivated by the upcoming public release of GFU-cluster alerts and by recent insights into candidate neutrino emitters—including active galaxies as well as the Galactic Plane. The new list expands beyond gamma-ray bright AGN to include X-ray bright AGN and galactic binary systems, broadening IceCube's multi-messenger reach and fostering wider community participation, including X-ray facilities.
