Padova as seen by the Department of Physics
Discountinuing a 36-year tradition, the XXI edition of the Workshop will be held in Padova, not in Venice.
Among many other attractions, Padova hosts two Unesco World Heritage sites: the Botanical Garden and the fourteenth-century fresco cycles: Padova Urbs Picta.
The Venues
Aula Magna Palazzo del Bo' (Monday 29th and Friday 3rd)
The opening (September 29th) and closing sessions (October 3rd) of the Workshop will be held at the Aula Magna del Palazzo del Bo (Via VIII Febbraio, 2, 35122 Padova PD), the main room of the University of Padova, one of Europes's oldest Universities, founded in 1222.
To reach the Workshop venue:
- Enter Palazzo Bo from "Via VIII Febbraio": from the Train Station (the terminal of the buses connecting to the Airport is next to the Station) take Corso del Popolo and walk straight for 1.2 km, or take the buses 3, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 22 or the tramway SIR1 (direction Guizza) and get off at the stop "Riviera dei Ponti Romani".
- Enter the ancient courtyard, reach the stairs on the left side and walk to the first floor where, taking a few steps to the left, you will find the entrance for the Aula Magna.
Centro Culturale Altinate San Gaetano (Tue-Wed-Thu)
The other sessions (Tuesday through Thursday) will be held at the Centro Culturale Altinate San Gaetano (Via Altinate, 71, 35121 Padova PD), within walking distance (8 min) from Palazzo del Bo.
Both sites are in the heart of the center of Padova.
