Description

The Euclid Escape Room is an Outreach project developed by the University of Padova and the INFN Euclid Group, it is officially endorsed by the Euclid International Collaboration.
It is part of the efforts related to the European Researchers' Night, the first version of the game was developed in September 2022 and then updated every year with material describing the Euclid satellite launch and the official images released by ESA.
The interactive activities are addressed to a group/class of about 25 people and fit an audience of kids and primary school students (up to 14 yrs). Euclid satellite components and scientific goals are described, several videos and pictures showing the satellite assembly and launch are shown and finally a 3D Euclid model can be admired. After the launch simulation several images and galaxy spectra are discussed, the procedures to be applied for redshift estimation are also introduced using Infrared cameras and diffraction gratings.
Such activity was really appreciated by the public and we already reached an audience of about 1000 people; the project is complemented by educational material suitable to lectures and interactive activities aiming to introduce the study of the dark components of our Universe.
