Description
In this contribution, I will review some recent progress in nuclear Density Functional Theory (DFT), mainly carried out within our group and/or with emphasis on the collaboration with Japan.
The three main topics that will be discussed will be (i) DFT-based models for an accurate description of excited states, (ii) Bayesian inference of the Energy Density Functional (EDF) parameters, (iii) perspectives for an ab initio-based DFT. If time allows, a brief account will be given about a new direction, that is, orbital-free DFT (OF-DFT).
