Description

The Hough transform pattern recognition algorithm is at the core of several searches for long duration gravitational-wave signals.
In particular, two pipelines used for all-sky searches of non-axisyimmetrically rotating neutron stars are built around the Hough transform to reconstruct the path of isolated sources in the parameters space along months of observation: the Sky Hough and FrequencyHough pipelines.
Given the size of the parameters space this searches are computationally bound, but recently it has been shown that running the Hough transform on GPU can bring to a significant speed-up of the whole searches in both of the mentioned implementations.
