Description
Recently, two different storage clusters were added to CLOUD@CNAF infrastructure to support both the Openstack infrastucure and the various usecases and projects. The new hardware was needed to replace obsoleted nodes, to henance the storage access performance and to improve the user experince.
The arrival of the new storage, allowed the implementation of extremely interesting solutions and the definition of different QoS levels based on the definition of different replica strategies.
We took into consideration solutions like CEPH and GPFS at the infrastrucure level and MinIO for user level storage implementation. To evaluate their performaces, standard benckmarcking tools have been adopted.
We will provide a detailed description of the solutions adopted, based on the benchmarking results, and the performances obtained by furher fine tuning configuration.
The results obtained during the test activity will be also used also to define the future infrastructure investment strategy for the CNAF Center and to complete the portfolio of solutions that will be offered globally to the users of the INFN Cloud distributed e-infrastructure
