Gathertown access and use

The poster presentations and discussion among meeting participants will be facilitated with Gathertown. Attendees of the conference will be able to visit individual posters and talk with presenters and others gathered at the poster. Beyond the posters, attendees can search for and locate their scientific colleagues and engage in one-on-one or small group discussion. The Gathertown site for the SolFER meeting has been created (https://gather.town/app/zt6s4v1Q8Jls4mpb/SolFER)

and will be populated with poster and other audio-visual materials by the start of the meeting. For those of you who are not familiar with the Gathertown software, here is a link with a brief presentation with instructions for navigating the site (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1070D8w3qUfD26YsR1h06rUYpuDv_65os/view?usp=sharing). The site includes a large meeting room for individual discussions and three poster rooms (Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3) that contain the posters that are being attended by authors for that day. Each of the poster rooms has several consoles with the list of posters being presented in that room.

Meeting connection and protocols

We will be using zoom for the meeting talks and discussion sessions. The zoom sessions will be recorded. All registered attendees will have received an invitation to the zoom meeting via e-mail. Please note the passcode for the meeting in that e-mail since the passcode is not posted in the link below. The zoom sessions for the meeting will be in the webinar mode. In this mode all attendees will be able to post questions in the Q&A tab and you can raise your hand if you would like to pose a question verbally. The host or co-host can then give you permission to unmute and ask your question. Attendees can also post answers to questions on the Q&A tab. Separate procedures will be used during the question periods after each oral talk and the 25 minute discussion period at the end of each session.

Oral talks:

If you would like to pose a question to the speaker, raise your hand and the moderator of the session will give you permission to un-mute your microphone to ask your question. Please re-mute after the speaker has answered.

Discussion Session with Panelists:

There will be a 25 minute discussion session at the end of the morning and afternoon oral presentations. Several panelists with expertise on the session topic have been selected to answer questions from attendees during this period. Each session will be initiated with a question from one of the session moderators. This will be followed as the moderator reads questions submitted by attendees from the Q&A tab. In writing you questions you may pose the question to either one of the panelists or one of the oral speakers at the session.

You are invited to a Zoom webinar.
