INFN statement regarding the participation of Russian and Belarusian scientists to conferences

Given the ongoing international crisis determined by the aggression of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, and due to the fact that some scientific Institutions in Russia have publicly expressed support for the acts of war perpetrated by their Government — against the values of peace, cooperation and dialogue proper to science — it is currently not possible to allow the participation by Russian (and Belarusian) Institutions in scientific initiatives, which by their very nature are inspired by these essential and inviolable values. Therefore Russian (and Belarusian) researchers will only be eligible to take part to committees, conferences and scientific events if they are willing to renounce to their affiliation, and participate as individual scientists, as opposed to representatives of their national Institutions.
