Description
The origin of flavour and the understanding of the hierarchies
in quark and lepton masses and mixings are among the most important open
issues in particle physics. In this talk, we discuss a range of topics:
from theories that can (partially) explain the origin of flavor to more
specific issues related to the precise determination of elements of the
CKM matrix including the interpretation of interesting recent experimental
results. The global status of the field, as well as its future prospects,
are also discussed.
