The second order linear coupling resonance $nu_r-nu_z$=1 is driven by an asymmetry in the median plane of the cyclotron due to presence of the first harmonic in $B_r$. The IsoDAR project aims to perform searches for the sterile neutrino looking at intense neutrino source placed near the neutrino detector of Kamland. The neutrinos are produced by the collision between 10 mA proton beam and a target, leading to the generation and subsequent decay of 8Li. The physical design of the compact superconducting cyclotron SC202 for proton therapy has been finished. Two copies of SC202 will be manufactured, according to the agreement between JINR (Dubna, Russia) and ASIPP (Hefei, China).
