Description
Starting some years ago, the term Cloud became very popular, both inspiring and confusing people at the same time. The latest buzzword – Software-Defined Enterprise – summarizes all developments around cloud technology (SDN, SDS, etc.) we seen in the last years. The use of open APIs and the trend to separate the infrastructure hardware from the service layer changes the way how to build large modern compute environments.
This presentation gives an overview on how the elements play together and how an open-source based private cloud using OpenStack could look like, while highlighting some of the implications to run cluster-based workloads like HPC and Big Data (Hadoop) in a cloud environment.
