How to reach Vietri sul mare


By train: Vietri sul mare can be reached by train from Salerno (10' ride) or from Naples (1h10' ride), both cities are connected to the fast train (Alta velocità) rails. Trains leave about every 30 minutes during working days from most of Naples city station, including Napoli piazza Garibaldi, the underground station under Naples main train station Napoli Centrale where fast trains and other main national trains arrive. Trains are less frequent on Sunday.
The required ticket from Naples to Vietri is the Unico Campania ticket U5, at the cost of €4.10. From Salerno to Vietri the tichet is the Unico Salerno at the cost of €1.30.

By plane: the closest international airport is Capodichino Airport, Naples. From Capodichino a special bus (Alibus) at the cost of €4 will take you to the main train station Napoli Centrale. Follow the indication towards the underground station Napoli piazza Garibaldi - Metro line 2. Take the platform with direction: Napoli Gianturco - Salerno, and catch the next train to Salerno (look at the indications above about trains and timetable). From Capodichino airport there are also buses straight to Salerno operated by COSAT, but are not very frequent.

If you land in Rome Fiumicino airport you can first take a train to the main station Roma Termini, and from there you can take a fast train straight to Salerno, then from Salerno to Vietri is a 10' ride.

By car: take the motorway A3 Napoli-Pompei-Salerno, exit at Vietri sul mare.
