Previous week recap 1mSpeaker: Davide Fiorina (GSSI & INFN)
Previous week recap (by person) — week of this meeting
Davide P.
- Updated Fantini: they requested news on final designs; a copper machining slot may be available soon after Easter.
- Informed Bussetti about successful gas-tightness tests.
- Confirmed 3 Fan-in/Fan-out units at LNF.
Davide F.
- Assembled the first GEM stack at LNF and identified an inner/external frame alignment issue.
- Defined the fix: slot external-frame holes by 2 mm per side on both stacks; Tecnoalarm to machine; Daniele to provide updated drawings by 23/03.
- Flagged GEM3 critical issue (v-bond shorts protection resistors); CERN to ship new GEMs for the second stack and remake cathodes (team ready to contribute 400 CHF with rounding requirement for 50 kV safety).
- Confirmed Hall F allows transport of the copper box already assembled; defined plan (remote crane + air cushion) with ~€5k estimate; started approvals/documentation checks with SPP and LNGS Technical Coordination.
- Unblocked the copper drawing workflow.
- Progressed field-cage and infrastructure topics: punching-tool option for missing closure holes; pre-commissioning infrastructure moving forward but some 30×30 Bosch profiles still missing.
- Identified follow-ups: HV cable compatibility, thin PMT window option, and potential use of CERN transport on 01/04 for the second GEM shipment.
Giorgio
- Reported progress in digitization optimization (Luan) and ER/NR discrimination variables integration; analysis meeting set for Thursday.
- Raised open PMT validation strategy; planned to ask Luigi to write on cathode modification.
- Confirmed invitation to give a directional DM talk to CSN2 in April.
Giulia
- Made available cloud samples for dedicated 8 keV X-ray simulations from GEM copper; assigned digi-reco/analysis to Emanuele and Davide P.
- Reported CNAF workflow exploration via dedicated account to replace notebook-based running.

DavideF report 1mSpeaker: Davide Fiorina (GSSI & INFN)
-
NIER / PRA update: still awaiting feedback from NIER.
-
O₂ sensor procurement: still awaiting feedback from the vendor.
-
Pre-commissioning setup: cameras and PMTs are being transferred from LNGS to LNF.
-
First GEM stack: the required modifications for completing the assembly have been carried out; cleaning and installation are planned for this week.
-
Second GEM stack: ready for installation, with the aim of completing it this week.
-
V-bonded GEMs: out of the three available GEMs, one is suitable and will be used for the second GEM stack; the other two are ready to be sent back to CERN.
-
Field cage: a new test to mount the field cage onto the structure is planned for this week.
-
Copper drawings: Cesidio is accelerating the completion of the drawings. The most recent completed item is the PMT–copper interface. At present, both 3 mm PMMA and a thin window remain viable options.
-
Copper box movement quote: no update yet from Franco Tacca.
-
Fascicolo Tecnico: the first draft has been written and is now to be reviewed by Cesidio and DavideP.
-
Hall F logistics: measure the size and width of the copper pallet in Hall F and send the information to Elisabetta.

Giorgio report 1mSpeaker: Giorgio Dho (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare)
Analysis
- Meeting showed strong improvement for the fast CAM to PMT association
- Implementation of Atul's variable by Luan is now complete
- Luan has provided and shared a notebook with OPTUNA to automize the digitisation optimisation
- Rob stated he will start working on Rn and Ali also will work one day per week
Digitization
- Tough bug found and corrected
LNF
- Black box and LED setup ready for PMT tests, to be done this week
