Description
The Large-Sized Telescopes (LSTs) are the 23-m-diameter telescopes that will form the core of the forthcoming Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) in the northern hemisphere. Thanks to their large effective area, these instruments are best suited for high-sensitivity observations in the energy band below 100 GeV. The first prototype of LST (LST-1) was inaugurated on La Palma, Canary Islands, in 2018 and is performing regular observations on a wide range of astrophysical sources in order to verify its scientific capabilities. In this contribution, I will report about the first scientific results achieved with LST-1 during its commissioning phase and the status of the additional three LSTs that are currently under construction in the same site.
