Description

I present a comprehensive modeling based on DRAGON and HERMES of both local charged CR spectra and diffuse gamma-ray emission across six orders of magnitude - from GeV to PeV - and discuss how the models confront the multi-wavelength data available, with particular emphasis on Fermi-LAT and LHAASO data. I describe the details of cosmic-ray transport and I consider two different transport setups: a conventional one and a γ-optimized spatial-dependent one (a development of the widely adopted KRA_γ model). I discuss the implications for the Galactic searches for the associated neutrino component, and highlight the crucial importance of the neutrino channel regarding the potential discrimination between these two scenarios.
