Description
This talk will present the outreach program at DESY in Zeuthen (Germany), highlighting how activities are planned, coordinated, and carried out by the team. It will provide insights into what drives DESY’s outreach efforts and the approaches used to engage diverse audiences. To illustrate these efforts in the field of astroparticle and multimessenger physics, two examples will be discussed: internship programs that allow students to gain hands-on experience in research, and the International Cosmic Day (ICD), which has been held 14 times and connects students worldwide with scientists through activities exploring cosmic rays. These examples show how DESY’s outreach fosters public interest in science, inspires the next generation of researchers, and communicates complex topics in an accessible and engaging way.
