Description
The origin of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays (UHECRs) remains unknown. There have been multiple efforts towards solving this mystery, but a few key issues prevail. In particular, the unknown deflections by the galactic magnetic fields have been a major roadblock. It has been suggested that spherical harmonic techniques can be used to mitigate this problem. In my work, I run detailed cosmic ray propagation simulations to test the aforementioned hypothesis. Furthermore, I will use the auto- and cross-correlation in parallel to quantify how well the spherical harmonic techniques distinguish between source models.
