Description
The European Strategy in Particle Physics is updated routinely with another update planned for early 2026. The last update was completed in 2020 and recommended the FCC Feasibility Study as well as the coordinated European Accelerator R&D plan that was documented in the CERN-2022-001. The current update (ESPPU) is tasked with recommending the next major accelerator-based project at CERN as well as backups should the primary plan prove not feasible. The main focus of the update is on Higgs Factories that could be realized in the post HL-LHC timescale, e.g. 2045. This talk will describe some of the options being considered including FCC, LCF, CLIC, LEP3, and LHeC as well as a number of advanced accelerator concepts that have been submitted including a Muon Collider, C^3, HALHF, ALIVE, and the 10 TeV Initiative.
