Description
The parton branching (PB) method allows using TMD evolution with standard
Monte Carlo event generators, replacing the current approximate treatment of initial state radiation with a rigorous prediction from first principles. A key parameter of PB is the intrinsic $k_\mathrm T$, which governs the low-scale behaviour of the TMD. In its first extraction from collider data, tensions appeared between experiments. We discuss their origin and consequences on the extraction of TMD parameters from high-energy collider data.
