We propose studying the nucleus $^{132}$Ce as a commissioning experiment for the AGATA $\gamma$-ray tracking spectrometer coupled with the EUCLIDES detector. Previous experiments at LNL revealed limitations in AGATA's "Phase 1'' electronics at high counting rates, which have been partly addressed, but a rigorous stress test is needed before the upcoming Phase 2 upgrade.
