Instructions for Proceedings
Both oral and poster contributions to the 16th Pisa Meeting will be published in a special issue of Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research A.
The manuscripts must be prepared according to the rules by Elsevier; in particular, they should include some original content and must not have already been published elsewhere or expected to be published in a different journal.
The maximum length of the contributions, including author list, figures, and references, is:
four pages for oral contributions;
two pages for poster contributions.
(A page is intended in standard NIM double column format.)
Formatting instructions
Manuscripts should be typeset using the LaTeX system. Authors are strongly encouraged to use the elsarticle.cls LaTeX class provided by Elsevier, which is available on CTAN and readily included in most LaTeX distributions. A zipped archive containing a complete template is available here. Elsevier Guide for Authors and Latex site provide more detailed instructions. An Overleaf template is also available here for you to copy and is also be available as an Overleaf public template.
The submission should include the main LaTeX source file, the graphics files for all the figures, as well as the compiled manuscript in pdf format.
Please compile your PDF with line numbers to ease the review process. \documentclass[final,5p,times,twocolumn]{elsarticle}
\usepackage{lineno}
\linenumbers
Note that, while authors can independently opt for publishing Open Access, the Conference will not cover the associated cost. Check carefully the transformative agreements of your institution that may already include the open access option with Elsevier.
Submission instructions
Manuscripts will be submitted to the NIM A proceedings editorial manager. (You will have to register as an author if you are using the editorial manager for the first time.) The basic submission steps are

- follow the “Submit New Manuscript” link;
- choose the appropriate “article type” for the Pisa Meeting (VSI:Pisameet2024)
- link your “ORCID id” and follow the instructions on the following pages;
- in the “Attach file” section, you will be requested to upload the “ORCID information” and the “Declaration of interest Statement” files:
+ for the “ORCID information” please upload a single pdf file listing out the ORCID identifiers of the co-authors;
+ for the “Declaration of interest Statement” you can generate the document using the web portal “Declaration Tool (elsevier.com)”. If this is not working well, you can modify the template file available here. The file should be uploaded in the same "Word" format.
- when you are asked to enter the preference for the editor, select “Francesco Forti (Pisameet 2024)”.
Since we are fully committed for the Proceedings to appear online within a few months after the end of the Meeting, the deadline for manuscript submission is June 30, 2024. Please plan the manuscript preparation and approval accordingly.
