Description
Twenty years ago an ambitious and ground breaking project was born within the INFN community with the aim to popularize physics using a web portal.
In these years students and the lay public were engaged with the hottest topics of modern research in particle and nuclear physics, astroparticle and theoretical physics.
Since the beginning, “ScienzaPerTutti” (*) has evolved in many different directions, becoming a reference point for High-School students and teachers having an average of 3000 entries every day.
The project encompasses a variety of multimedia products like didactic units, research materials, columns, infographics, interviews, book reviews, and podcasts. A particular feature of many of these activities is a constant call to action to involve our audience, providing us continuous insights to optimize contents and methodologies.
This contribution focuses on three of these activities. Firstly, we present “Ask to the expert” a section in which people can write science related questions/curiosities and interact with specialists. Secondly, we illustrate the annual contest, arrived at its XVII edition, addressed to High-School students and being devoted, every year, to a different topic. In 2021, more than 70 groups participated in the competition, which was dedicated to scientific errors identified by students in films, songs, art, and literature. An analysis of the proposed works and outcomes are discussed here. Finally, we present “Characters and challenges of Physics”, a scientific exhibition dedicated to nine female and male scientists who contributed, through their challenges, to deepening our knowledge of modern physics. This exhibition was showcased during the Rome Science Festival 2021.
An outlook on future initiatives concludes the presentation.
