Description
We discuss methods and results on QCD topological studies on the lattice.
We review the interrelation of topology with chiral and axial symmetries,
and the effects on the meson spectrum in the different phases of QCD. We comment
on topological aspects of dense matter, and we discuss the high temperature
limit. We discuss the extrapolations needed to reach the regime of cosmological
relevance, and the resulting constraints on the QCD axion mass.
