      Reflecting the Holographic Correspondence 20m

Arising in the context of String Theory, the AdS/CFT correspondence relates a theory of gravity on an Anti de Sitter space to a superconformal gauge field theory defined on the boundary of the AdS space itself. Symmetries of the field theory are mapped to isometries of the space and, thanks to this geometrical nature, one can engineer SCFTs when enough control of the geometry is at hand. For the so-called toric spaces, various tools have been developed to deform the gauge theories. We focus on particular spaces called 'Orientifold Singularities' and show evidence of a new duality between orientifolded models.

Dark sector searches at the PADME experiment 20m

In recent years so-called secluded sector models of dark matter have gained traction. In these models, the dark sector is connected to the standard model through one or more portal interactions and corresponding mediator particles. Traditionally, these searches have been conducted at high-energy experiments but with no new physics having been observed so far, lower energy searches are becoming increasingly interesting. The PADME Experiment at the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati is searching for a dark photon using positron annihilation on the electrons of a fixed target. Here I present the background to the experiment and current status of the detector.
