Abstract

Electric and magnetic dipole moments (EMDMs) of fundamental particles are powerful probes for physics within and beyond the Standard Model. One of the main goals of the SELDOM project is the measurement of charm baryon EMDMs from spin precession in bent crystal of high-energy baryons produced in fixed-target collisions at the LHC. Two preparatory measurements are essential for this experiment: the determination of the amplitude model of the charm baryon decay, to achieve the best precision on the EMDMs, and the measurement of the initial charm baryon polarisation, which must be significantly different from zero. The main subject of the seminar is the precise determination of the amplitude model of the main $\Lambda^+_c$ baryon decay mode Λ+c→pKπ decay from large statistics LHCb data. The main steps of this amplitude analysis are presented, including: the development of a new method for describing the decay in the helicity formalism; an analytical study showing the possibility for a simultaneous measurement of amplitude model and polarisation; the evaluatation of the sensitivity to the polarisation of the $\Lambda^+_c\to pK^-\pi^+$ decay. The prospects towards the analysis completion as well the progress on the measurement of the $\Lambda^+_c$ baryon polarisation in fixed-target proton-neon collisions are also outlined.
