This joint meeting between the Einstein Telescope design study WG2 and WG3 and the SFB TR7 "Gravitational Wave Astronomy" project will focus on experimental techniques for 3rd generation gravitational wave detectors. We will survey the current status of the R&D work in different groups and the progress of the ET design study. Following the workshop on 1st and 2nd March the third day is reserved for the kick-off meeting of the transverse WG of the ET design study. This group consists of a small number of people working towards the final ET document.
