Description
The IceCube Collaboration recently announced the detection of a high-energy astrophysical neutrino consistent with arriving from the direction of the blazar TXS 0506+056 during an energetic gamma-ray flare, and a “neutrino flare” from the same direction during 2014-15. I will present some of the inferences drawn from these observations for neutrino emission from TXS 0506+056, in light of the characteristics of this source. Additionally, implications for neutrinos from blazar flares in general will be presented.
