Scientific Program

The second annual ET workshop will be composed by four main sessions, related to the scientific working groups realizing the ET scientific team; WP1 (site and infrastructures of a third generation gravitational wave observatory), WP2 (suspensions and thermal noises), WP3 (topologies and geometries) and WP4 (Astrophysics).

The aim of this central ET meeting is to define the baseline options of the ET conceptual design, to assess the science goals of a 3rd generation gravitational wave detector, to form the core of the team that in the remaining months of activity will effectively realize the design.

A round table will be organized with the scientists coming from US and Japan to discuss the perspectives of the 3rd generation of GW observatories, its relation with the advanced detectors in US and Europe and its synergy with the space GW detectors.
