The CRATER Workshop will bring together scientists to discuss the propagation of cosmic rays in the Milky Way, with special emphasis on the link between the micro-physics of particle transport in turbulent magnetic fields and the galactic-scale transport modeling.
The conference aims at exploring synergies between expertise in plasma physics, cosmic-ray theory, numerical modeling and experimental efforts to investigate the mechanisms responsible for transport in the interstellar environment and their role in explaining recent cosmic-ray anomalies.
Main topics of the workshop:
- Models of galactic cosmic ray propagation
- Charged particle transport in turbulent magnetic fields
- Gamma-ray astronomy
- Cosmic ray anisotropy: observations and interpretation
