The conference, entitled “A Half-Century of Blazars and Beyond” (Italy 2018), will be held in Turin (Italy) from June 11th (Monday) to 15th (Friday), 2018. Registration and welcome will be organized on Sunday, while the social dinner will be on Thursday and a “Fermi 10 years” event on Monday. The conference will be structured as summarized in the following table:

Each session will be interrupted by a coffee break 30 min long to facilitate discussions between participants.

We would like to focus the last session on a detailed discussion on how the current and future facilities will help to investigate the physics of the extragalactic jets in blazars. A special attention will be devoted to emphasize the role of Fermi for blazar discoveries since they represent the large known population of gamma-ray emitters and because it will also be an opportunity to highlight the 10 years of excellent science. Nevertheless regarding future facilities this conference will be also a perfect occasion to show the role that IXPE can have for blazar research in the years to come. In fact, blazars will also be one of the most promising extragalactic sources to measure X-ray polarized emission.

 
We plan to have an invited review talk each day of the conference; the first day it will represent our overview talk while in the afternoon of the last day, it will be the summary talk of the proposed conference. At the beginning of each remaining session, there will be an invited talk to summarize the current status of the research concerning the specific topic. We can also comfortably organize at least 13 contributed talks per day (7 only on Wednesday) for a total of about 60.
Our SOC already completed a first round of selections and is preparing a list of candidate speakers for the invited talks. The following table summatizes our program in terms of time allocations and nubers of invited, contributed talks and posters:
