Description
In this talk I will review past and current experiments on the QED vacuum. The fluctuations of QFT vacuum are one of the hallmarks of field theory, and they carry with them a host of important implications. Photon-photon scattering -- in all its incarnations -- is a powerful tool to study these fluctuations in QED. Moreover, interactions of photons with yet-to-be detected pseudoscalar particles can provide precious hints of physics beyond the Standard Model, and lead to interesting reflections on the quantum nature of light.
