This meeting will continue a series of workshops held previously at Temple University (2000), CPPM Marseille (2004), and Jefferson Lab (2010).
While a tremendous amount of knowledge about the quark and gluon structure of the nucleon and nuclei has been accumulated in the four decades since the development of Quantum Chromodynamics, significant gaps remain, particularly in the region where the parton momentum fraction x is large. With the expectation of new data in the near future from experimental facilities such as the 12 GeV energy-upgraded Jefferson Lab, as well as from collider and neutrino experiments, it is timely to review the recent progress that has been made in our understanding of nucleon structure at high x and assess the possible impact of the new data.
The workshop will discuss new theoretical ideas and suggestions for additional studies at present and future facilities, along with implications for related fields.

The specific topics to be addressed at the workshop will include:
  • Parton distribution functions at large x
  • Longitudinal and transverse spin structure
  • Transverse momentum distributions
  • Generalised parton distributions and exclusive processes
  • Nuclear medium modifications of parton distributions
  • Quark-hadron duality and higher twists
  • Lattice QCD and "low-energy models"
  • Implications for new physics searches and related fields
