Description
In the recent years much attention has been devoted to the study of Quantum Chromodynamics in external magnetic field for its possible phenomenological relevance. In this talk we will review the motivations for such an interest and the main results obtained by first principles lattice methods, with particular emphasis on the determination of the magnetic susceptibility of the strongly interacting matter. It will be shown how some technical complications can be bypassed and we will present the physical results obtained, together with a discussion of its possible phenomenological relevance.
