WP5 meeting

Europe/Rome
    • 14:00 14:20
      Roundtable 20m
Speakers: Andrea Messina (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare), Davide Fiorina (GSSI & INFN), Davide Pinci (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare), Gianluca Cavoto (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare), Giorgio Dho (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare), Herman Pessoa Lima Júnior (Gran Sasso Science Institute), Stefano Piacentini (GSSI and INFN LNGS)

      Stefano report about Rb-83 source:

      • No news from the providers or the intermediators
      • In contact with Campoverde company to find alternatives, tomorrow (April 8) we will have a call with them
      • Davide F. suggests to ask them to help us in the procurement of the Rb-83 source

Stefano and Herman about the Trigger Module tests:

      • As soon as the data taking on MANGO can have a pause, Stefano and Herman will coordinate to make the tests in HdM
      • Hopefully before April 15 or after April 23

      Stefano report about DAQ update:

      • MANGO data-taking showed that QUEST cameras undergo timeout from time to time
      • No reasonable explanation could be found and the error was really hard to catch as it is not reproducible
      • Implemented solution: frontend understands if this is happening and induces a stop transition, but how?
        • Midas infrastructure does not allow to call a stop within a frontend which is also being acquired
        • Solution: the frontend stops polling and raised a flag in the ODB. An alarm is associated to flag and calls a separated script which stops the run. Finally, during the end_of_run and at the begin_of_run the flag is reset to allow for this system to be able to work without external reset by the user.
      • Solution not yet tested to not interfere with current MANGO NID data-taking

      Stefano report about PMT measurements:

      • The week before Easter we were able to put in place the setup for the PMT characterization measurement
      • We followed quite literally the procedure presente by Giorgio at the last meeting
      • Davide F. developed an analysis package for this task
      • Lost a good amount of hours to mitigate the electronic noise before realizing the first PMT tested was broken
      • The next PMT tested showed good behavior, (plot follows), numbers to be crosschecked with the Hamamatsu datasheets as suggested by Davide P.
      • Low-light and low-gain data points depart a bit form the expected behavior (possible higher background contamination in data), but the low-light high-gain points align very well to the high-light gain curve
      • Davide P. suggests to add the Amplitude vs Voltage plot to the set of plots generated by the analyzer software

Davide P. report about rupture discs for the gas system:

      • He contacted Francesco Renga to look for the discs we already purchased, and he indicated that they could be still underground at LNGS
      • Next time we go underground we should look for them, and also bring the RAD8 overground
