Description

This talk provides a practical overview of how E4 Computer Engineering is approaching quantum computing as a technology that complements High Performance Computing, with a specific focus on hybrid workflows and real-world applications. The presentation will outline E4’s positioning in the quantum landscape, its main areas of activity, and selected ongoing projects in domains such as optimization, drug discovery, cryptography, quantum machine learning, and image reconstruction. It will also show how, at this stage of technological maturity, emulators and proof-of-concept activities are essential tools to validate algorithms, build skills, and prepare for industrial adoption. In this context, E4 promotes a pragmatic approach supported by concrete assets such as a Quantum Emulator Appliance based on NVIDIA CUDA-Q and a Quantum Random Number Generator for high-reliability applications. The goal of the talk is therefore not only to explain why quantum computing matters today, but above all how to start using it in a realistic and valuable way.
