The Gamma Factory (GF) is an ambitious proposal, currently explored within the CERN Physics Beyond Colliders program, for a source of polarized photons with fluxes up to ≈1017 photons per second and energies up to  ≈400MeV, parameters by far exceeding those of any currently available gamma source. The high-energy secondary photons are produced via resonant back-scattering of the primary laser...

This talk reviews recent LHC results on associated quarkonium production, encompassing both Run 2 and the initial phases of Run 3. We examine how these measurements provide a unique window into Double and Triple Parton Scattering (DPS/TPS) mechanisms. A key highlight is the landmark discovery of all-heavy tetraquarks within the multi-quarkonium mass spectrum. Finally, we discuss the future...

The LHCb physics program for Run 5 at the HL-LHC will extend studies of nuclear matter under extreme conditions using pp, pA, and AA collisions. The sevenfold increase in luminosity will be matched by upgraded tracking and detector systems, whose performance will be crucial to the success of the heavy-ion physics program.

The enhanced detector capabilities will enable precise measurements...

The Tile Calorimeter (TileCal), the central hadronic calorimeter of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, is undergoing a comprehensive electronics upgrade in preparation for the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) phase, expected to start in 2030. The HL-LHC will deliver a significantly increased instantaneous luminosity by a factor of 5 to 7.5, posing substantial challenges in terms of...
