Hands-on Workshop on IRIS Control Software
Sala Rostagni
LNL
The ISOLPHARM Radionuclide Implantation Station (IRIS) is one of the experiment in the low-energy experimental room at SPES. This station is dedicated to the collection of radionuclides with long half-lives for applied physics research. In particular, nuclear medicine could benefit from the production of radionuclides that are typically difficult to produce with standard production methods. The second work package of the SPES_MED experiment is carrying on the installation and characterization of the IRIS system. Yield measurements and efficiency studies are foreseen too.
The workshop will start with a general introduction, presenting the aims of the ISOLPHARM project together with the SPES_MED experiment. Then, there will be a description of the IRIS system: from the mechanics, to the controls and to the detectors. The main part of this workshop will be a practical guide showing how to use the IRIS system. The aim is to train the future operators of the IRIS system at SPES.
