Description
Modular symmetry provides a powerful tool for predicting fermion masses and mixings. By generalizing the upper-half plane to the Siegel space, modular transformations act through symplectic maps, strongly constraining the allowed Yukawa couplings. In this scenario, I will present a successful quark model in which the CKM phase emerges near the CP-conserving fixed points of the fundamental domain, which are used to reproduce the observed mass hierarchies.
