Description

The Future Circular Collider (FCC-ee) is designed to run at the Z-pole with an instantaneous luminosity orders of magnitude higher than LEP, offering a unique opportunity to test the Standard Model with unprecedented precision.
A primary motivation for this program is the resolution of the long-standing discrepancy observed at LEP regarding the b-quark forward-backward asymmetry (AFB), with its discrepancy of approximately 2.5 sigma, which remains today the EW precision observable with the largest discrepancy with respect to the Standard Model prediction.
In this contribution, we present a study for the extraction of AFB using the Jet Charge technique on simulated data at sqrt(s) = 91.2 GeV. The Jet Charge approach provides a complementary inclusive method to tag the quark charge besides soft lepton tagging or exclusive vertex reconstruction.
The analysis is performed using the FCC software framework (Key4hep) with the IDEA detector concept.
The impact of background contamination from lighter quarks (Z to cc- and Z to uU-, dd-, ss-) is taken into account.
