ITINERIS —————
- IPANEMA Catania and PANAREA data are analysed and analysis is ongoing
- CNR contacted us to have a joint analysis on ITINERIS framework
- Simone is in charge of perfom:
- Status of the server ERDDAP
- Summary of the data and status of the disk (GUI page GRAFANA style)
- confirmation to install the AIS antenna in PP
- AIS in Catania is working (Salvo S. Is in charge to follow)
- AIS in PP is ok but the GUI has to be upgraded (Abdel and Salvo A. are in charge)
- disk for the storage: all the components are at LNS. Emidio doesn’t need any input from us, he is independent. Basically the system will be the same of the CATANIA one, in addition we broth 2.5” disks to be installed in PP (have a sketch of the storage system, with Salvo V)
IPANEMA ————
CATANIA:
- data taking and analysis is in progress
- earthquake event recorded last week: it is in agreement with data showed in the DAS
- we are acquiring data also from oceanographic instruments on 15’ bases (50 Hz noise effect is present but we are filtering it offline)
PANAREA:
- Salvo will go at the end of Feb, no INGV there. The mission is already paid (Mr Portelli is already warned)
- two hydros are ready to be deployed (two options: used the older one by swapping the storage card or to use the VONGOLA one that are already ready without any major modifications)
- we have to discuss with INGV and OGS Palermo the future (the mission for the recovery of the station is already placed but we have to discuss the details also from an economic point of view)
- INGV inspected the mooring and apparently it is ok
- Letizia and Abdel can report on the highlight of the results but the analysis is not mature (we just did it from a statistical POV). We know that there is a source of bubble: its time variation could follow the Stromboli activities (Salvo V is on this)
VONGOLA ———
- the DAS is working nicely, it saves data every two dates a part for the particularly important events
- Petter did not replied at our emails (Clara will retry to contact him in the next days)
- Abdel reports on the comparison b/w DAS data and hydrophones from IPANEMA CATANIA station. He will perform also a long-term analysis on the same bases of PP data. First of all he needs calibrated data in order to properly calculate SPLs (also from ship noir point of view)
- keep in mind that the goals of the project are: tracking of the balenoptera and measure the SPL of the sound space (better to structure the work path)
Hardware:
- we need to integrate the station of NOEL in Reggio Calabria: everything is in place, people in Calabria are happy to follow the operations (no charge from us)
- a new diver contacted for PLEMMIRIO site
- we need a social approach (it is important for the sake of the project, it is one of the requirements of the PNRR)
- Elena Geraci has to be added to the author list of the VONGOLA paper(s)
- Flavia has to define a proper biological-oriented thesis. A meeting on AI applied to analysis is foreseen on the 20th
- Clara report on her analysis about DAS data.
Other communications:
- Pier Alfeo contacted us to thank for the data we provided so far, but of course we have to continue to provide data for outreach purposes. Giorgio highlighted the needs to have a GUI interface to “share” data and stream.
Conference and papers:
- Didac presented a report on the conferences we are thinking to apply during the year (6 in totals)
- All of our abstract to the Malaga workshop were accepted, proceedings have to be written and submitted well before the end of March (28th is the final date for submission)
- Papers: 4 papers are under review from the journal, one more is expected to be submitted soon from Salvo V
