Due to major work on the Milan-Varenna railway line in preparation for the 2026 Winter Olympics, the route from Lecco to Varenna will be replaced by buses.
The overall trip from Milan will take approx. 80 minutes (barring heavy traffic)
Therefore, those coming from Milan by train will have to get off in Lecco and then take the bus to Varenna.
The buses have scheduled stops in Abbadia Lariana, Mandello del Lario, Olcio and Lierna, for those staying in one of these towns.
