The first 18 months of successful data taking at the Large Hadron Collider have allowed a very rich and fruitful program of searches looking for new and exotic signatures beyond the Standard Model. In this talk, I will discuss the status of current exotic searches at the LHC and the comparison with the Tevatron results, as well as the perspectives and challenges in 2012.
