The Quantum Science, Innovation and Technology workshop (QuaSIT) will take place between the 9th and 13th of September 2024, in Modica (RG), Italy.

The QuaSIT workshop is mainly aimed at young researchers recruited for the Italian Next Generation EU-PNRR initiatives on Quantum Technology. Our goal is to bring together young scientists, leading experts and industrial partners, to stimulate scientific discussions in an informal environment and to promote new collaborations, laying the ground for the success of the next Italian generation in quantum research and development. To this end, QuaSIT encourages the participation of researchers from both private and public research institutions.

The field of quantum technologies has made rapid advances in a wide range of topics. The first edition of QuaSIT will cover theoretical aspects on quantum computation, communication and sensing, and platforms for quantum technologies based on electronic, atomic and photonic configurations. The workshop program will feature invited talks delivered by leading scientists, contributed talks and poster sessions.

Keynote speakers of the workshop:

  • Christiane Koch (Freie Universitat, Berlin)
  • Chiara Marletto (Oxford University)
  • Simone Montangero (Università di Padova)
  • Mauro Paternostro (Università di Palermo and Queen's University of Belfast)
  • Jürgen Stockburger (Institute for Quantum Complex Systems, Ulm University)
  • Vlatko Vedral (Oxford University)
  • Filippo Vicentini (Ecole Polytechnique)

In the framework of the activities of the National Quantum Science and Technology Institute, the workshop will also promote participation from industrial research and developments (R&D) partners and will organize panel discussions with companies and stakeholders actively involved in the field of Quantum Technology.
